Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from tuftsin, studied for anxiolytic, nootropic, and immune-modulating effects. Unlike most research peptides, Selank can be administered intranasally as well as subcutaneously. This guide covers both routes.
What Vials Typically Come In
Selank research vials are typically available as:
- 5 mg vials
- 10 mg vials
- Pre-made intranasal drops (0.15% solution) are also available
How to Reconstitute Selank
Standard reconstitution for a 5 mg vial:
1. Clean stopper with alcohol swab; allow to dry
2. Draw 1–2 mL bacteriostatic water or sterile saline (for intranasal use, saline is preferred)
3. Inject water slowly down the vial wall
4. Swirl gently; allow 2 minutes for dissolution
Concentration examples:
- 5 mg + 1 mL → 5000 mcg/mL
- 5 mg + 2 mL → 2500 mcg/mL
- 5 mg + 5 mL → 1000 mcg/mL
For intranasal use: 5 mg in 33 mL sterile saline = 0.15% solution (150 mcg/mL) — approximately matching commercial intranasal preparations.
Standard Research Dosage Ranges
| Route | Dose | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Intranasal | 250–500 mcg (2–3 drops/nostril) | 2–3x daily |
| Subcutaneous | 250–500 mcg | 1–2x daily |
| Maximum | 750–1000 mcg/day | Divided doses |
Injection Volume Table
Using a 2500 mcg/mL solution (5 mg in 2 mL BW):
| Target Dose | Volume |
|---|---|
| 250 mcg | 0.10 mL (10 units) |
| 375 mcg | 0.15 mL (15 units) |
| 500 mcg | 0.20 mL (20 units) |
| 750 mcg | 0.30 mL (30 units) |

Frequency, Timing, and Cycle Length
- Timing: Morning and afternoon are most common; evening use possible for sleep research
- Cycle length: 2–4 weeks on, 1–2 weeks off is the standard cycling approach
- Intranasal vs subcutaneous: Intranasal has faster onset (5–10 min); subcutaneous has slightly longer duration
Storage
- Lyophilised vials: -20°C
- After reconstitution: 2–8°C; use within 14–21 days (shorter shelf life than BW-reconstituted peptides in some formulations)
